Hi there! It’s me again ~ it’s been a while so, to sharpen my saw, I’ll give you (5) random thoughts from my sunny Sunday ~
1 ) 2022 has been THE year for Lilacs. Cool, rainy April showers definitely brought us May flowers. Everywhere I’ve been lately the Lilacs are hanging like grapes. And that scent? Ahhh….
2 ) Thinking about some advice I gave a friend recently ~ not everything has to be hard. Sometimes we just need to stop pushing on a door that says, “pull.”
3 ) Back into my books again; reading brings me such comfort and pleasure! 3 favorites of late include:
- “Verity” by Colleen Hoover. Compelling, twisty, turny, and read it start to finish in 1 night
- “Confessions on the 7:45” by Lisa Unger. Random things we share with strangers…
- “In Five Years” by Rebecca Searle. Unexpected, sometimes hard to follow, worth it.
- I was gifted “The Palace Papers” by Tina Brown ~ what a yawnfest. I stopped reading halfway through and have Zero guilt!
4 ) My daily walks are non-negotiable and will continue after we move ~ I’ve enjoyed seeing the neighborhood come to life again, flowers blooming, lawns greening up, walkers, dogs and baby strollers out and about. One of my routes takes me along and under a tunnel of evergreens ~ look at all that new growth, isn’t it beautiful? The needles are soft and tender, and they make me smile.
5 ) Work is all-consuming, I’m online by 6am and my day wraps up well after 6pm, every day. 12+ hour days daily and the volume, demands and expectations never lessen or relent. I could work every weekend and sometimes do. Thankfully, I still enjoy the work and that helps a LOT but there are days when I feel like this hairless Chihuahua ~ News reporters report not as many people in the workforce but I tell you what, many of us who ARE in it feel like we’re doing the work of 3, not 1.
How about you?
- Read any good books lately?
- What’s one of your non-negotiables?
- What are you noticing about the workforce – more or less? Happy or stressed?
